AAR Certified

Our facility is a AAR Certified Facility. Our M-1003 Quality Assurance Program ensures that our welders and carmen are trained and certified to provide the best quality service to our customers. It also ensures that our facility itself provides the equipment necessary to get the job done professionally and proficiently. AAR guarantees this through annual facility compliance audits. In our most recent audit the inspector found no violations or non-conformances.

Our AAR 9A certification gives our technicians the authority to remove roller bearing end caps and seal rings.

All of our technicians who perform these crucial functions are tested annually by AAR Inspectors to ensure they are fully qualified.

Free Inspections and Estimates

We understand that when your car is far from home you need someone you can trust to tell you exactly what is needed to get your car back in service. If your car arrives in our yard, we provide railcar inspections and estimates at no charge.

Free In-Yard Switching

Switching is a necessary function of any railcar repair operation to move the car from one repair station to another.

We provide free switching into our yard, as well as from one station to another. 

Mobile Field Units

We have two fully equipped field service units that can perform a wide variety of field repairs to railcars for customers that are unable to release their in-service railcars to our shop for repairs. This convenient service allows railcars to remain in service and keeps down time to a minimum.

Parts Inventories

We recognize the importance of having on hand, a full inventory of parts with which to make repairs to railcars. In addition to this we have several customers whose cars require specialized parts. That is why we offer the service of reserving storage space for customer purchased parts for use in repairing their cars. Thorough records are maintained on these parts for each customer keeping inventory on our premises.

Computer Billing

Crucial to today's business needs, we have the data processing base to offer computer billing, working closely with the computer, utilizing their programs. This minimizes paperwork and speeds up the process which is necessary to get the railcars back in service fast.

Sand Blast and Painting

Our sandblast and painting facilities encompass over 12,000 square feet under cover for year round, all weather operations. Painting an object as massive as a railcar requires specialized facilities and specialized personnel. Our sandblasting and painting personnel have each had over fifteen years of experience performing this type of work, enabling us to provide excellent service, fast turnaround and reliable coating systems for a professional application.

Railcar Cleaning and Transfer Facilities

We recognize the importance of having railcars cleaned between commodities. That is why we offer a complete car cleaning facility for cleaning non-hazardous commodity residues from hopper cars, gons and boxcars. We also have the capability to transfer commodities from one railcar to another, from railcar to truck or from truck to railcar. In addition, we have 22,000 square feet under cover for temporarily storing non-hazardous commodities awaiting transfer.

With an experienced staff of fabrication experts, we are capable of performing specialized fabrication, design and construction jobs from drawing table to completion.  This is especially useful in repairing railcars by giving us the ability to reproduce parts for railcars that are obsolete or are no longer available.  To illustrate an example of our design and fabrication capabilities, the photo shows one of the products we developed and marketed for the local phosphate mining industry. A heavy duty winch and boom / superstructure custom fitted to a bulldozer enabling the transport of heavy, awkward loads across rough terrain.

Machine Shop

We have a machine shop consisting of two lathes, heavy duty industrial drill, end milling machine and vertical milling machine which expands our capabilities to perform customer machining to hard to find or obsolete parts.
